Campus chaplains in Lappeenranta parish
The campus chaplains serve at LUT University, LAB University of Applied Sciences, as well as local upper secondary schools and vocational schools. Our mission is to serve all students, regardless of their religious background. The chaplains are also available to support members of staff.
As members of the student wellbeing team, the chaplains’ primary responsibility is to promote and support students’ emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Together with the wellbeing team, they take part in orientation and group-building activities for first-year students.
The chaplains offer confidential one-to-one conversations, protected by professional confidentiality. They also organize alcohol-free activities, such as student evenings and worship services for students at Sammonlahti church.
In addition, the chaplains are involved in planning and delivering a variety of student activities, including university fair days, nature excursions, and other community events.
From where to find us
The campus chaplains of the Lappeenranta Parish Union serve students at upper secondary schools, Sampo Vocational College, and the higher education campuses of LUT University and LAB University of Applied Sciences.
Our office on the higher education campus is located next to the main entrance of LUT University (Room 5113).
The chaplains offer regular walk-in hours at both the vocational college and the higher education campus. On the higher education campus, walk-in hours are held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Walk-in hours at Sampo Vocational College are announced through the Wilma student information system.
